Meals
The cost of a school meal is £1.80 plus 10p for milk. Only those children who receive a free school meal are entitled to free milk. Milk may however be available for purchase in school during the lunch period.

Children of parents receiving Income Support, Jobseekers Allowance (income based), Employment & Support Allowance (income related) are entitled to a meal without charge.
Information and application forms for free school meals may be obtained from schools, first stop shops and Municipal Buildings, Coatbridge. Parents are entitled to receive a clothing grant if they are in receipt of any of the following benefits: Income Support, Job Seekers Allowance (income based). Employment & Support Allowance (income related), housing benefit, council tax rebate.

Those children who bring packed lunches have their meals along with the other children who remain in school during the lunch hour. The majority of children remain in school for lunch. Due to the schools central location in Coatbridge children are not permitted to leave the school campus to purchase their lunch at local outlets in the interest of health and safety.

It should be noted that a special diet is available to any child who requires such on medical grounds. A medically prescribed diet form must be completed by the child’s Registered Dietician or General Practitioner. Vegetarian dishes are also available.

Every effort is made to encourage children to choose their food sensibly.

The school operates a cashless system for both tuckshop and lunchtime. Children are required to place their money on their lunch card and cannot present cash at the tills.

The school operates a lunchtime banding system for pre-ordering lunch. This ensures children get they lunch they want and reduces food waste. It has also reduced waiting times at lunch.

Breakfast Club
The school does not operate a Breakfast Club, however, St.Augustine’s Church operate a breakfast club for school children. Please contact the Parish for details and to register your child.

Playtime
Catering Services operate a tuck shop at present which promotes healthy eating. Children may buy low fat snacks, toast and fruit (all items are nut free).
