Last week Primary one and two went on a Winter Walk exploring their senses. It was an extremely cold morning and they had to wrap up well wearing hat scarves and gloves. They saw many signs of Winter and even saw some ice and snow over the ground. Some children even seen some snow on the way to school that morning! They explored their sense of smell through the crisp air, their sense of touch by feeling the frost on the ground and the damp leaves along the garden. They felt the bark on the trees and saw many fallen braches on the ground. They also felt their own cold noses and red cheeks and those of their friends!
They investigated the changes in the season and discussed what we could do to protect our garden and raised beds throughout the winter.
They all headed in doors to challenge our taste buds by sampling some spices such as; cinnamon and ginger, cinnamon was very popular.
Room 3 then got to work writing about their adventure in their taught writing jotters.
Have a look at our fab pictures!
