What’s on Week Beginning 21st September 2015

Monday 21st September 2015

A PGDE Teaching student will begin a four week placement in the nursery class today.
2.00pm-3.00pm: Mr. O’Donnell will be out of school and Mrs. Scott will teach Primary 1 this afternoon.
1.30pm-3.00pm: Alison Cameron and John French, Continuous Improvement Officers from North Lanarkshire Council, will be visiting to meet with Mr. Clark this afternoon. They will visit the children in their classes to see their learning.
3.30pm-5.30pm: Mrs. White is attending Part 2 of P6/7 Kodaly Music Training.

Tuesday 22nd September 2015

Miss Renton will be attending Reading training at the Literacy Base today.
1.30pm: Tea with Mr. Clark for the past two week’s Pupils of the Week.
1.30pm-3.30pm: Miss Thomson, S6 pupil from Calderhead will be in school for Work Experience in the nursery.
2.00pm-3.00pm: P5/6 Block of Football Session 2.
3.00pm-4.15pm: P5-7 Girls Football After School Club.
3.45pm-5.45pm: Mrs. White at ePortfolio Twilight.

Wednesday 23rd September 2015

Mr. Clark will be out of school today for a training course.
9.00am-12pm: Mrs. McLean attending Probationer Profile training.
9.45am-10.15am: Celebrating Success Assembly led by Mrs. Linfoot – the focus of the Pupil of the Week awards will be ‘We are kind and helpful’ and the focus of the Worker of the Week awards will be excellent effort and quality with Daily Writing.
10.45am-11.45am: Mrs. Hope will be working with Mr. O’Donnell in P1/2 as part of our Nursery to P1 transition. Mrs. Linfoot will be working in the nursery at this time.

Thursday 24th September 2015

Non-uniform Day. £1 per pupil towards the School Improvement Fund.

Mr. Clark will be out of school all day attending the Scottish Learning Festival.
Miss Thomson will be attending Reading training at the Literacy Base today.
Miss Brown will be out of the nursery class all day for training.
9.00am-10.00am: Mrs. Linfoot will be visiting Shotts Family Learning Centre as part of the planning for the Shotts Cluster Transition to School event.
1.30pm-3.30pm: Miss Thomson S6 pupil from Calderhead will be in school for Work Experience in the nursery.
2.15pm-2.45pm: Golden Time

School will be closed on Friday 25th and Monday 29th September 2015 for the September long weekend. Have a lovely holiday.

Week Beginning Monday 14th September 2015

General Information

Three pupils from Calderhead High will be in school this week for their S4 Work Experience. They will help out in classes, the school office and in the playground.
Mr. Clark will be visiting all classes this week for Head Teacher Learning Visits and will be looking at the work of pupils. The focus of this will be on questioning techniques and how pupils are being involved in peer assessment.
Our annual Science week, which was due to be held next week will be postponed as we have a special replacement planned. More news soon…

Monday 14th September 2015

9.20am-10.30am: Mr. O’Donnell and Miss Renton will be team-teaching in P2. Mrs. McLean will be teaching in P1/2.
2.00pm-3.00pm: Mrs. Scott is teaching French in P2 today instead of Tuesday morning.
3.30pm: Mrs. White will be attending a P6/7 Kodaly Music course.
4.00pm: Mrs Scott will be attending a Handball Course.

2.15pm-3.00pm: Parent Information Session for children involved in the Movement Group.

Before 9am: The company who do PE equipment safety checks for NLC will be in school for the annual inspection.
Mr. Clark will be out of school all day at an Online Safety Seminar.
9.45am-10.15am: Celebrating Success Assembly (led by Mrs. Linfoot).
11.00am-12.30pm: Mr. O’Donnell and Mrs. Linfoot will be at Dykehead Primary for a Nursery to P1 Transition Working Group meeting. (Mrs. McLean will cover P1/2).

Thursday 10^th September 2015

Mr. O’Donnell will begin Baseline Assessments with P1 pupils this morning. Mrs. Linfoot. will cover P1/2 until 10.30am.
10.45am: Tea with Mr. Clark for Pupil’s of the Week from yesterday.
1.30pm: Miss Thomson, a S6 pupil from Calderhead will begin a programme of Work Experience. She will assist in classes on a Tuesday and Thursday afternoon throughout the year.
2.30pm: Mr. Craig (Education Officer) will be visiting to meet with Mr. Clark and tour the school.

	Mrs. Elaine Quate joins the team this week. She will be working as an Auxiliary in the office on a Monday and as an ASNA on a Tuesday and Wednesday. We look forward to having her on the team.
Monday 31st August 2015	Mrs. Scott attending ‘Bi-lateral Integration’ training today. 1.45pm: Mrs. McDonald and Miss Darragh from Calderhead High are visiting to introduce themselves to P7 and meet with Mr. Clark.
Tuesday 1st September 2015	Mr. Clark out of school all day to attend Head of Establishment Meeting at Civic Centre. 11.00am-12pm: Kodaly lessons for Primary 5 begin today.
