ATTEND SCHOOL
The classroom is where you learn
Make sure you bring at least one pen or pencil to school
Carry your books & jotters in a suitably sized bag
Complete your classwork and homework to the best of your ability
Do not leave your bag lying in a corridor, in the bushes or in a class without a teacher’s permission
Permission slips for dental appointments etc must be arranged in advance with the Receptionist
MUST WEAR UNIFORM
White shirt with school tie
Black trousers/skirt, black shoes
Blazer with badge
BE ON TIME
For the start of school at 8.55am
Arrive promptly at EVERY class
Do not delay arriving at class by going to the toilet or ask to leave a classroom after breaks or just before the end of a lesson
If you are allowed to visit the toilet, make sure you are given a permission card
RESPECT ALL
Place litter in the bins that are provided & think about recycling
Behave properly & safely at all times
Do not carry food or soft drinks in the corridors or take to class
Exit classrooms in an orderly fashion
Keep to the left in corridors & follow the one-way system
Take your time on the stairs
Keep quiet near examination rooms
Do not loiter in the lane at the train station or behind the gyms or Games Hall
Use appropriate language when you speak to your friends
Be aware of your responsibility towards ALL pupils & staff in the school and our neighbours in the community as you walk to and from school and at lunchtime
ORGANISE YOURSELF
Pack your bag & its contents the night before school—remember your PE kit
Know your timetable
Use your Homework Diary to record what you have to do
Carry & use your own NEC card & coins to add to your lunch account—take a note of your number should you forget your card
Carry your bus/train pass to show your entitlement to travel—if you forget or lose it, contact the front office as early in the day as possible to arrange a replacement
STAY FOCUSSED
Do not bring mobile phones or MP3 players to school
If you do, and it happens more than once, it will not be returned at the end of the school day
Remain within the school grounds at interval
Stay in the school or local area for lunch & do not travel to other areas by train at lunchtime
Set targets for your progress
ENJOY SCHOOL
Get involved, take part & show responsibility– listen to the daily bulletin announcements about events
Take part in a club or sport or visit the library
Take pride in your classwork
