Welcome to our March Newsletter! We are now officially into spring and we are all very busy as we head towards Easter. IMPORTANT INFORMATION Scottish Attainment Challenge – Read to Succeed As you will be aware our school is part of the Scottish Governments agenda in its aim to raise the attainment of children and young people. Our main focus is within the area of Literacy. Here is an overview
We had a great time during Fairtrade Fortnight. Classes were learning more about Fairtrade and took part in different Fairtrade activities. During Fairtrade Fortnight, we generated a total of £648.10 overall for Fairtrade. This money came from sales from the pocket money stall, selling bananas, tasting Fairtrade fruit smoothies, wearing Fairtrade colours and having a sale of Fairtrade items in the staff room. We also had a Fairtrade Art competition
P6 were very successful when using the laptops. We managed to create our own documents using word processing. We are able to change the font size and colour and can add our own media.
P6 are enjoying using the i-pads to create podcasts. They have managed to record us learning about fractions, decimals and percentages in class. We are going to do much more of this!
P6 have a great imagination. The task is to think of the BFG (Big Friendly Giant) and use their imagination to create artwork. Well done P6. I am amazed at what you could do.
P6 children really enjoyed dressing up as their favourite characters from various books for World Book Day. Well done P6.
Wow… would you believe it that we have sold over 100 bananas this week! St Margaret of Scotland pupils know the importance of Fairtrade. Let’s try and increase the numbers for next week. Fairtrade assembly on Friday 10 March. Please encourage your child to buy a banana from us. All money goes to the Fairtrade farmers.
