P1 Enrolment

We are SO excited to welcome new families into our Ravenswood Dream Team! January marks the beginning of the Primary 1 transition process as parents/carers are invited to enrol their child in school for session 2024-2025.

If your child turns 5 years of age between 1st March 2024 and 29th February 2025  they should be registered for school by the 19th of January. On Tuesday 16th and Wednesday 17th of January our school will be open for enrolment. Choose to come on either day between 9:15am – 10:15am or 1:45pm – 2:45pm.

When enrolling you should bring…

  • child’s original birth certificate
  • proof of address – such as a council tax bill

You can look forward to lots of smiley faces and school tours led by our very knowledgeable Primary 7s.

We cannot wait to meet you all!

Reading Buddies

On Friday 17th November, Mrs. Hawthorn was joined by many P5-P7 pupils at the Reading Buddy Workshop. She was delighted to welcome all of the enthusiastic volunteers who were keen to learn more about how they can help other children in our school to develop their Literacy skills. Reading buddies is a fantastic opportunity for everyone involved and has been successful in Ravenswood Primary for a number of years.

Keep an eye on Twitter (@RavenswoodPS) to see how our children help each other to become Successful Learners, Confident Individuals, Effective Contributors and Responsible Citizens.

Team work really does make the dream work!

Outdoor Learning

Miss Purdon has been working with other practitioners across North Lanarkshire Council developing outdoor learning. As part of our Learning and Teaching policy here in Ravenswood, outdoor learning is fundamental for all children and experienced regularly every week.

Meet the Teacher Feedback

It was great to see so many friendly faces at our first school event of the year, Meet the Teacher. This is a fantastic opportunity for everyone to see our school and meet the whole team. Thank you to everyone who came along to support the evening, even though the weather was against us!

We always aim to improve and are keen to get your feedback at EVERY event (as many of you know!) Thank you for leaving us your sticky note comments.

Charitable Classes

Every year our school aims to support a mixture of Local, National and International charities. This was a very popular choice from our initial home learning grid. Thank you to everyone who discussed different charities at home for our classes to consider.

Mrs Simpson collated all of the choices and made a super handy leaflet with all of the chosen charities for the year. It’s going to be fun seeing what every class comes up with to raise funds to send. We will keep you posted nearer to the time.
