Meet the Teacher Feedback

It was great to see so many friendly faces at our first school event of the year, Meet the Teacher. This is a fantastic opportunity for everyone to see our school and meet the whole team. Thank you to everyone who came along to support the evening, even though the weather was against us!

We always aim to improve and are keen to get your feedback at EVERY event (as many of you know!) Thank you for leaving us your sticky note comments.

Charitable Classes

Every year our school aims to support a mixture of Local, National and International charities. This was a very popular choice from our initial home learning grid. Thank you to everyone who discussed different charities at home for our classes to consider.

Mrs Simpson collated all of the choices and made a super handy leaflet with all of the chosen charities for the year. It’s going to be fun seeing what every class comes up with to raise funds to send. We will keep you posted nearer to the time.

Funky Hair Friday

P4/5 were raising money for Clic Sargent, a charity which helps young people and children with cancer. We chose this charity by voting at the beginning of the year. We brainstormed lots of great ideas! We decided that Funky hair Friday was in theme with Clic Sargent’s fundraiser ‘Wig Wednesday’ and decided to raise funds through Funky hairstyles. Our class worked hard and began fundraising on Friday by asking pupils to attend school in casual clothes and with a funky hairstyle for a donation. We also baked in school through the week and sold our baked goods at a bake sale on the Friday. We set up a hair salon for any pupils who wanted to have colour added to their hair! P4/5 set to work colouring hair or selling baked goods up until lunch time. It was a great success, we raised £314 for Clic Sargent!

Blogging

We are Katie and Tillie. We are in the after school blogging club 🙂 The most exciting thing in Ravenswood Primary this week is Charan. At first we take our shoes and socks off. We join in dancing and drama with Charan. P4/5, P5/6 and P6 enjoy learning dance with Charan every Thursday afternoon in the gym hall.

Christmas Enterprise

We are Kalli and Kara and we are in the after school blogging club. In P4/5 we have been working very hard on our Christmas Enterprise. We have chosen a name and a logo. We are the Christmas Crackers! We have chosen our product and now we are working out how to make it.
