New Arrivals

Primary 1 are learning about the life cycle of a chick. They are very lucky as they had a delivery of 10 eggs at the beginning of the week. This week those 10 eggs have hatched successfully and now P1 are looking after 10 beautiful chicks. Every day our learners visit the staff and classes to give us their ‘chick chat’. We will keep you posted with any more news as they begin to grow.

Eclipse

The whole school was very excited today to witness the eclipse. Every class had prepared their own safe viewers and stood patiently as the playground began to get darker. Unfortunately there was plenty cloud cover over our viewing spot in the playground. This meant that we did not get the view that we had hoped for. It was still a very exciting time and a super learning experience for everyone involved.

P2 Symmetry Stars!

In P2 we have been learning about symmetry. We can identify horizontal and vertical symmetry all around us. We went outside and spotted symmetrical objects in the environment. Then we were very creative and made our own symmetrical pictures and patterns using Numicon. If you ever need help understanding symmetry, P2 is the place to seek some advice.

P6 Mathematicians

Primary 6 are working hard learning about fractions, decimals and percentages. We have been using the BIG Maths ‘learn its’ strategy to consolidate our learning. Have a look at our mental maths work. We are improving every day.

Ravenswood Marsh

As part of our new Science topic a group of P6 children accompanied Miss Hawthorn and Carrick to Ravenswood Marsh to collect frogspawn. We noticed many other creatures during our morning visit.

Although frogs are normally quite shy we were very lucky to have many happy frogs willing to pose for photos today. Carrick spotted a newt too and managed to catch it for a closer look.

Thank you Carrick for helping us today.

SHANARRI – Included

Today we started our SHANARRI work all about being ‘Included’. A fantastic afternoon enjoyed by all 3 Houses – Mars, Neptune and Jupiter. We can’t wait to see what next week has in store.

Enrolment

We are looking forward to meeting all of our new Primary 1 pupils.
