PE Challenge
This should really be a PE, maths and research challenge!
Today Bailey found out that there are 1668 steps in the Eiffel Tower and he calculated that that is the same as running up and down our stairs at home 128 times (he divided by 13 since we have 13 stairs). He made a time-lapse video. (Sorry about the cardboard boxes in the video – we’re moving house soon!)
See if you can find out how many steps are in your favourite landmark and then see if you can do the same. You might choose the Empire State Building, Big Ben, The Leaning Tower of Pisa or Ben Nevis!
Choose a Challenge
Choose whichever one interests you most and work your way through the grid:
Daily Challenges for Week Beginning Monday 20th April
Here are this week’s daily challenges. Have a look and see if you can do any of them. Remember to post on Teams and let me know how you get on.
Maths
Here is a good revision lesson on Multiples, Factors and Primes, including short videos and follow up activities to try.
Remember there is still a Sumdog contest running for the month of April and there is a variety of tasks on Studdyladder for you to complete.
Literacy
Read the next chapter of your novel.
Why not try jotting down some tricky words that you could use for metalinguistics, or write a summary of the chapter once you finish? Or make a cartoon style type visualiser like we’ve done in class? Here is the template for a blank visualiser.
If you don’t have a printer you could try drawing it out on a piece of paper with a ruler. Or do a spider diagram visualiser showing what you’ve learned in this chapter about the plot, character(s) and setting.
There is also a wide range of grammar and reading tasks on Studdyladder for you to complete.
Spelling words for this week
If you wish to do some spelling activities this week, here are your words. Choose an active spelling strategy from this grid:
cfe2-e-260-second-level-spelling-cfe-homework-grid
or from your homework menu that we normally use. Or think up an idea of your own. Spell them out in daisies or stones in your garden, write them using pasta shapes, etc.
