Monday 15th – Friday 19th June 2020

As it’s your last full week of Primary School, and many of you have transition visits this week, I am posting all of the week’s work in one go to allow you to fit it around other things you have going on this week.ย  Don’t forget you should also be looking on your High School website/twitter page to look for other transition tasks and information about starting high school.

PE with Joe
30 minute workout live on YouTube at 9am each day (you can do this later than 9 am if it suits you better as the video is available on YouTube after the live broadcast).

English
Your literacy task this week focuses on Questions, Metalinguistics and Inference.ย  There are 5 parts to the task so you may choose to do one each day or do them all on the same day – it’s up to you.ย  If you are reading something of your own choice at the moment which you are enjoying, and you would like to use that for your task instead of the class novel you were given in Term 3, thatโ€™s fine with me.ย  ย This document can be printed to enable you to do it on the sheet, or alternatively you could type your answers onto a blank word document or just write it in your jotter/notebook.ย  Donโ€™t forget to spend some time this week reading your novel too. It is important as it builds your reading stamina which is the length of time you can read without losing concentration.ย  The greater your reading stamina, the longer you can read and the more enjoyment you will gain from reading.ย  This is because it gives you a chance to really get โ€˜intoโ€™ the book.

Spelling
Congratulations, you have completed your spelling programme for this year so I won’t be posting any more spelling word lists, however I would like you to list 6-8 words that you know you need to think about or check when you write them (or maybe they are words that you regularly get wrong) and come up with your own spelling activities to help you learn them.

Sports Week
This week we will have a sports focus because our school sports day would usually happen this week.ย  So I would like you to do as much of this Ladywell Sports Week Grid as you can.ย  All the information you need is on the grid!ย  Enjoy, and post lots of pictures on Teams!

Transition to Secondary
Have a go at this lesson which helps you with navigating an S1 Timetable. No matter which high school you are going to, there will be a element of reading a timetable.ย  Please note that the timetable in the activity is made up as are the room numbers and teachers’ names. There are 4 sections of questions, so you could do one each day Mon-Thu and I will post the answers here on Friday so you can self-check your answers.

Maths
Sumdog

Art & Design
Make a personal/family/house banner/flag to cheer on yourself or each other.

Global Citizenship
Watch each day’s Newsroundย bulletin and comment on our team to let me know one thing you have learned or found interesting.

Have a great week P7! It’s the last full week of primary school, so make it count!
