Digital Learners

This week we have enjoyed using the Mac Books during literacy to develop our typing skills.

We have also been busy working on creating our own bar charts on Education City.

1980’s Music – Ghostbusters!

As part of our 1980s topic we were planning to do a dance routine to a song by Michael Jackson, Prince or Madonna, however we decided that we would prefer to learn to sing and create a dance to the theme for Ghostbusters!  Instead of his ukulele, Mr. MacLeod brought in his electric guitar to play the song – it is the same colour as Slimer! We had great fun learning the lyrics and all having a shot of the guitar – noisy stuff!  We are looking forward to doing a performance for another class and recording ourselves on the iPad so we can assess our work!  It’s almost Halloween!

Fairyland in P1

Primary 1 continue to read, listen to and enjoy various fairytales. Recently we read ‘Goldilocks and the Three Bears’ and enjoyed tasting porridge. Some boys and girls tasted it for the very first time. Thankfully ours wasn’t too hot or too sweet. It was just right like baby bear’s.

Max – “I didn’t like the porridge, it tasted weird.”

Kornel – “Yummy.”

Euan – “It’s delicious,”

We practised our cutting skills and matched the porridge bowls, chairs and beds to daddy bear, mummy bear and baby bear! Well done P1.

This week I have been learning about thousands, hundreds, tens and units. Sometimes the units are called ones. I have been learning ey ou ea sounds and looking for real and nonsense words. Today I’m making an autumn smoothie with 1 banana, 1 orange, 1 carrot and six ice cubes. Also 125ml of orange juice and yoghurt then mix them in the blender. I am feeling happy because it’s nearly October and Hallowe’en.
