Happy New Year!
After our very relaxing festive break, Primary 6 are beginning our new IDL topic, Clyde in the Classroom. You can find out about this topic here – Clyde in the Classroom. This topic will encourage children to engage with nature and develop a sense of pride in their local environment. The children will be responsible for the care of brown trout within our classroom and work weekly with Clyde River Foundation Scientists. The twin outcomes of developing citizenship and personal confidence will be illustrated by their personal and group work. We cant wait!
We will also be going on a school trip on Wednesday the 11th for our topic. This will involve pupils meeting Clyde River Foundation scientists, and being introduced to their soon-to-be classmates, the brown trout and all about its fascinating life cycle. They will learn about the ecology of the River Clyde and how to look after a brown trout hatchery. They also had the opportunity to explore the Science Mall.
We will be posting lots of information, photos and videos of our new project – check back soon!
