P6 Tartan and Tweed Workshop

This week primary 6 had a workshop in called Tartan and tweed. Firstly we had a discussion on why we wear clothes to get us started. Then we felt sheep’s wool which was greasy and oily because that’s what keeps the sheep’s coat waterproof.
Mr. McDonald the man who came in to do the workshop said that sheeps wool was what people used to wear years ago in Scotland. We then made made our very own big of material using sheep’s wool. We made it by weaving then putting it inside a card which made it really nice. It was a good afternoon of weaving!
