Primary 6 Thrilling Third Week by Isla and Alex

Monday

On Monday we had a visit from the Gospel Hall in the morning. They were very good at entertaining us, it was great! We did some taught writing. It was on the Olympics and we had to write an information report on it.We have some photos of us writing below. Next in the day in was P.E., we are doing circuits. Each of us have a n Olympic Personal Fitness Recording sheet with star jumps, push ups and step ups. We can also add three other stations of our choice to the Tracker. We get two minutes to do those things and what do in those two minutes is what we write done on our sheets, each week we have to try and beat our score. Monday was a fun day!

Tuesday

On Tuesday we had P.E., we were continuing with our circuits and trying to beat our scores. Next on the day was health with Miss Davidson, we designed a birthday card for peoples birthdays in the school. To finish off the day we did some literacy, looking at the Inference Strategy and some maths work on rounding.

Wednesday

On Wednesday morning we were doing some literacy. Our book we’re reading is called “Titanic-Death on the Water”. It’s about a boy called Billy who dad’s just died at the start and Billy at the age of fourteen he goes to work on the shipyard building the Titanic. Billy doesn’t like his job so he interviews for a job on the Titanic as a bellboy and he gets it. His mum and sisters are proud of him but scared and upset to leave Billy for six months. We did some maths. Place Value is what we are working on.

Thursday

On Thursday we did art by making Olympic vases with black paint and pastels. We designed our own vase template design first. Then we started by lining the shape of the vase, we then coloured in the vase with orange/red pastels. We then painted it black and let then let it dry. Then after lunch we carved out a picture of something on the vase using toothpicks! There are  some pics at the end of our hard work.

FRIDAY

On Friday we looked at the literacy strategy of Main Ideas for chapter 7 of The Titanic. Then we played some online maths games for rounding. You can find them here. Then the Gospel Hall came and visited us for our assembly, it was brilliant!
