Another busy and fun week in p3/4L!  We have been learning about David and Goliath!  David was a Shepherd and Goliath was a giant. They had a fight, everyone thought Goliath was going to win, but David won, using just one of five stones!

In our topic we been learning about Space.  We have been listening to ‘The Solar System Song’ to help us find out facts about planets.  We live on the planet Earth.  It looks blue from space because of all the water.  Mercury is the closest planet from the sun.  Mars is the planet next to earth.  Mars is Red.

We have been working on our phonics this week with Geraldine the Giraffe.  She is a naughty giraffe and sometimes tries to keep the children off her work – but they are excellent at concentrating!

In number we have been working on addition and partitioning hundreds, tens and units.

567 = 500 + 60 + 7!!

800 + 30 + 6 = 836!!

We have also been doing great reading work and are getting into a good classroom routine!  We hope you enjoy our photos!
