Our IDL Theme this term is going to be Space. I revealed this to the children yesterday and they were all very excited. We made a mind map of what we already know about Space (or think we know). Keep checking the blog for our progress through the Theme.

We have been completing lots of Literacy & English tasks in our class, but yesterday was our first big step into a full Active Literacy session. The children were using our alphabet boards, spelling, partner reading and revising the sound ‘sh’. There was a lot of excitement when the highlighter pens were brought out.(Almost as much excitement as we had when the electric pencil sharpener was plugged in).

This term we will be learning more about Time. So far, we have revised what we know about O’Clock and Half Past. The children had a tense game of bingo this morning, where they were listening for and identifying times. I think you will be able to tell from these photos which children were the lucky winners.

Some very hard-working children got to play dominoes as an early-finisher task today, and after a quick explanation about how to play dominoes, were soon immersed in an exciting game.
