Over the past two weeks, the children have continued on their pirate journey. They have been listening to the story of ‘My Granny is a Pirate’ and ‘Pirate Treasure’. From these stories, they have been learning what it’s like to be a pirate and the jobs they do. They have used their imagination to create stories based on the day and life of a pirate. Outdoors, they have been scrubbing the decks, playing cannon ball target practice, walking the plank and have even been on a Pirate scavenger hunt.

The children have worked together to create a pirate ship from junk: Pirate Pete is very happy with his new ship and has been feasting on fish as this week’s rhyme is 1,2,3,4,5, once I caught a fish alive. The children have also been using the fishing rods to catch the alphabet fish to keep Pete’s stock full.

The Christmas concert practice is well underway. Please see the poster on the door with all the details. Parents/carers will receive a letter next week with information about the Christmas party.
