This week’s news from Cathedral Nursery

This week in nursery the children have been building a range of structures through block play. They have drawn their designs freehand and used the blocks to draw round to illustrate their creations. In the garden, they have been using their senses to explore the sunflowers, looking closely at the stem, leaves and flowers and sharing their learning with each other.  During the downpours this week the children have been exploring muddy puddles and singing rhymes relating to the rain (Incy Wincy Spider).
At the start of the week, the children discussed and recorded their favourite nursery rhymes, stories and songs. Look out for this being extended next week. In snack they have been using their listening skills as they follow instructions to make pizzas and milkshakes, choosing their own ingredients. We continue to promote our rules/routines and self-help skills.
Please take a moment to look at the hard work displayed on the learning wall in the cloakroom next time you’re in the nursery.
