As part of their exciting Amazing Africa topic, P7 young learners and Mrs Callaghan welcomed Mrs Duffy to their classroom, where she joined them in exploring the sights, flavours and traditions of this fascinating continent.
During her visit, the children took part in a fantastic African-inspired food-tasting experience, sampling a delicious selection of foods, including juicy mango, sweet pineapple, hummus, chapati bread and a tasty lentil and chickpea tagine. This hands-on learning experience encouraged young learners to explore new flavours, broaden their cultural understanding and discover foods that may have been unfamiliar to them.
There was plenty of enthusiastic discussion as the children shared their opinions, described different tastes and textures and voted for their favourite food.
