Learners share big ideas for Motherwell’s future

Our P4–P6 pupils took part in exciting Pride in Place consultation sessions led by Socialtrack, where they were invited to share their thoughts on how investment in Motherwell over the coming years could help make our town an even better place to live, learn and play.

From the moment the sessions began, pupils were fully engaged — especially when asked the thought‑provoking question: “What would you do with £20 million?”. Many pupils suggested helping charities, supporting those in need and making sure everyone in the community feels included.

Throughout the day, pupils offered a wide range of imaginative and thoughtful ideas, from improving local spaces to creating opportunities for young people. Their voices will now be shared with the Pride in Place team, ensuring that children’s perspectives play a meaningful role in shaping future plans for Motherwell.
