Primary 6 engineers of the future

Primary 6 learners took full ownership of their STEM journey by designing and constructing a multi‑storey garage for their nursery buddies. Their project blended creativity, engineering thinking and teamwork, all driven by child‑led learning.

Learners sketched out ideas for a multi‑storey car park, thinking carefully about ramps, levels and how younger children would use it. Using recycled materials, they built the structure collaboratively, assigning roles and solving problems. They tested the stability of each level, checking whether it could hold toy cars and withstand movement from little hands. After identifying weak points, they reinforced the design, experimenting with supports and different joining techniques.

A creative, functional, multi‑storey car park that their nursery buddies can enjoy—built entirely through child‑led learning, teamwork and STEM thinking. Developing the young workforce of the future.
