Primary 2/3 It’s May Already!

Good Morning boys and girls, can you believe it is May already? I’m glad the sun has decided to come back out this morning, hopefully it continues to stay.

I’m very excited about Monday – it’s known by some as STAR WARS DAY! (May the 4th/force be with you). I have put together some fun Star Wars activities you can do at home if you’re a big fan like me so keep an eye out for those on Monday morning!

Before we left school some of us had written letters to my mum’s cousin, Mrs Rose in Australia. She works in the University of Adelaide in Australia. She teaches English as a second language to people. She has e-mailed me back answers to all your questions we sent over with some pictures too. She’s even sent us a picture of Kevin the Koala who lives at the bottom of her garden! I hope you enjoy reading her answers as I know she had fun answering them for you.

Australia Questions Answered

Let me know if you found any of her answers interesting or funny or if you had anything else you would like to ask her.

As it’s Friday, remember to have some Golden Time. I’m spending my Golden Time today watching things on Disney+, how are you spending it?

Missing you all, take care

Marvellous May

Good Morning Boys and Girls,

How are we feeling today? Can you believe that it is now the start of May? I hope you all had a good week and have enjoyed lots of different activities. Feel free to comment to tell me what your favourite tasks have been and if there is any you did not like. Did you get up to anything nice this week? I would love to hear from you.

I have been really impressed with Kara, Aimiee, Taylor, Lucie and Teighan who all spend over an hour on Sumdog this week! Excellent effort girls! I will post a new focus from Monday. Do you think you will beat your personal best?

Since it is Friday, I found this interesting picture. In this picture you may find yourself asking different questions about what is out of place. The challenge is to see how many questions you can ask. For example, why is the man wearing his left shoe on his right foot?

I would love to see what questions you ask about this picture!

I am missing you loads and always look forward to hearing from you. Have a great weekend,

Miss Jones

Facebook Live Sessions

Good Morning boys and girls, I hope you are keeping well and enjoyed the video message we made for you!
I wanted to share a few things which are taking place on Facebook live today.
At 12 p.m NLC Leisure are hosting a football workshop for children of all ages and abilities. All you need is a football!
At 4pm if you go to the Gruffalo Facebook page, you can watch Julia Donaldson and friends. Today’s episode is all about the story ‘The Cook and the King’.
Well done to all of my pupils who have been on Sumdog this week. Remember you have until tomorrow to complete your challenges!
Take care everyone.

P7 Transition

Mr Scott at Coatbridge High has created a virtual tour of the building with some information about all the different departments for Primary 7 pupils. The video is split into 3 parts on Twitter. You don’t need a twitter account to watch the clips.

Primary 3/4 – 29.4.20

Good afternoon boys and girls

I hope you liked the message that all of the staff sent to you all and your families. If you haven’t seen it yet scroll down to Mr Henderson’s post from Monday!

A big well done to the children who have taken part in our times tables challenge on Sumdog this week. I have seen some very impressive scores so far! I can see that we are still confident with our times tables. Remember the challenge is open until Friday for those of you who may not have had the chance to log on yet.

I know the weather has not been great the last couple of days so I have attached two pictures with lots of different non-screen activities you could do at home. There is 50 in total! We know from our Science topic how screen time can affect our brains so it is good to limit your screen time when you can! Here are the pictures:

Hope you are all well, missing you all

P7 HWB

Good morning P7,

As we know, it’s really important to look after our health and wellbeing, especially during these times. In class we had begun to look at mindful breathing, and practised it in class as well as at home. We learned that mindfulness is about paying attention to what we are doing moment by moment, while we are doing it. So practising Mindfulness can help us to pay attention and to concentrate better.

Why not take some time to try mindful breathing over the next few days. Remember to zip up your imaginary mindfulness jacket and either close your eyes or look to the floor when doing it.

If you can’t remember exactly what we did, I have attached a summary for you.

Mindfulness home activity PDF

Maybe you can teach someone at home this activity, they might find it really helpful.

And remember, the more you do it, the easier it gets!

Thinking of you all.

Miss Miller 🙂

Primary 2/3

Hi everyone! I hope you’re all doing well.

I thought I would let you see a really easy and tasty recipe I like to make at home – Naan Bread Pizza.

Easy Naan Bread Pizza Recipe

The website can be found here. It includes the ingredients, method and a video to show you each step. You can decorate your pizza as you wish. I used lots of cheese, peppers and sweetcorn.

Let me know if you try this out!

I’d also like to say a big well done to all the boys and girls doing a great job on Sum Dog. Lilly and Zack I saw you managed to answer 100 questions each yesterday – fantastic!

Stay safe, take care
