Primary Four Gymnastics

Primary four were showcasing their gymnastics skills during their PE this afternoon. They were working independently, performing jumps from a height and working with a partner to create impressive balances.

Woodland Group 3

Week 3

On our walk to the site we continued with our shape hunt.  We discovered lots of shapes – circles, triangles and squares.  We even saw a cat with ears shaped like triangles!  Using natural materials we were able to create our own shapes and talk about them using words such as corners and sides.

We were also very busy making a den.  It was very special because it made us invisible!  The ladies could hear us talking to each other but they couldn’t see us.  We used lots of materials to make it e.g. a variety of ropes, giant pegs and fabrics.  It was lots of fun!

We had a special surprise waiting for us ……….a hammock which was tied to the trees.  We all had a turn lie on it and swing our friends from side to side.  We saw some interesting things when we looked up to the top of the trees e.g. a monkey eating bananas!!

P1/2 enjoyed celebrating World Book Day and brought their favourite book in to class.  They wrote a character description from their books, recognised the prices of different books and designed a new front cover for their books.  We listened to stories all day and read with our friends.  We also had Nurse Rudy and Nurse Alexandra making our reading buddies feel better 💕

Creating Pancakes

The children in the nursery were celebrating Pancake Tuesday by using their own thoughts and ideas to create funky pancakes.  You can see a few examples of these below.

Protesting.

Primary four have written another letter to object to the dam being built and have decided the want to protest to show how unhappy they are.

They are busy writing letters and preparing their signs!

Becoming Digging Machines.

Yesterday, the children worked in groups to use their body and actions to resemble a dam building machine. The groups had to connect, make a slow motion action and make a sound.

They did great and it was very interesting to watch.
