S3
In S3 pupils receive 3 periods per week building on their existing IT skills. Consolidation and differentiation are key during S3. This course is very much practical in nature with pupils using different applications in Microsoft Office.
Pupils study:
- word processing (letters, itineraries, notices etc)
- powerpoint
- spreadsheets and charting
- databases
- e-mail and e-diary
S4
If pupils opt to continue this subject in S4 they will start working towards the national level assessments most appropriate to their needs and abilities.
National 3 Assessment
Assessment at National 3 comprises of a unit with IT based tasks. This is an internal assessment so pupils do not sit an external exam.
