Well done to this kind and helpful girl for winning Glen last week. She always works extremely hard and is a good friend to the children in p1b. Glen really enjoyed his weekend and loved his trip to Adventure Planet! Thanks for taking such good care of him and for putting in such a lot of effort into his journal. P1b love seeing photographs of what he has been up to at the weekend. Well done!
Ready Steady Cook
P1a used potatoes and onions from our school garden to make bangers and mash! It was delicious and we hope that Mrs Martin enjoyed it. Thank you to Mrs Kelly for helping us!
Awesome Art by P4/5
We researched the famous pop artist Roy Lichtenstein, who worked through the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s. We found out that he painted the famous ‘Expressionist Head’ in 1980 which was then turned into a series of sculptures. We created our own versions.
P4/5 Rounding Fun
We have been learning to round numbers to the nearest 10, 100 or 1000. We had great fun consolidating our learning at different rounding stations.
Follow the link below to have a go playing the rounding game.
P5’s Fab Art!
Primary 5 were inspired by some of Ed Moses’ artwork today. The children created their own paintings after looking at some of Ed Moses’ work. They used pieces of cardboard to create the lines in their paintings.
A special thank you to Kayley who researched and shared the artist as part of her 1970’s topic research.

Auchengeich Colliery 56th Annual Memorial Service
It was drizzly day as the choirs from Glenmanor and St Michael’s Primaries waited patiently for the service to begin. They sung beautifully ‘Give Me Joy in My Heart’ and ‘Going Home’ and their behaviour was excellent. Well done everyone!
There was a great turnout from the community to support the service.
Willie Doolan, Secretary opened the service and Danny Taylor, Chairman, remembered the 47 miners who lost their lives 56 years ago. David Collins, from Moodieburn & District played while the names were read out. Then there was the laying of the wreaths.
Rev Mark Malcolm read from the Bible then Elaine Smith, MSP, and Provost Jim Robertson, NLC, both read a dedication and Father Michael Briody said a prayer.
Nicky Wilson, President of NUM read a dedication and Captain John Parry, Salvation Army read the benedition at the end of the service.
