Primary Four

The pupils in P4 have recently been studying The Ancient Egyptians. We have been researching and finding out about many aspects of this fasinating ancient civilisation. The children in Primary Four made a fantastic effort both in class and at home, producing some amazing topic homework! Well done to all involved.

We were lucky to have had the opportunity to attend ‘Heroes and Villains’ musical workshop in the Royal Concert Hall on Tuesday.  Primary four pupils then took part in a follow up workshop in school on Friday morning.  We had great fun making our own music with household items!

P4 children proved to be a whizz in the kitchen using vegetables grown in our own school gardens to make a delicious Spanish Torteilla.

Spotacular Countdown!

This week we are hosting a variety of activities to raise money for Children In Need.  In celebration of all things Pudsey, children will have the chance to win their own cuddly bear with our ‘Guess the Bear’s Birthday’ which is running all week for 50p a go.

We will also be holding a Toy Sale for all classes on Thursday where prices will range from 50p to £2.50.  Thankyou for all of the generous donations so far – if you haven’t had a chance to donate yet the closing date to bring in any unwanted toys is Wednesday.

As a reminder, on Friday we will finalise our fundraising events with a ‘Wear Spots to School’ day for a £1 donation.

Christmas Fayre – Saturday 25 November 9.00-12.00

We are very busy making plans for our annual Christmas Fayre on Saturday 25 November. We are trying hard to beat the amount of £2,000 raised last year.

Any donations of fancy goods, tombola items and bottles would be greatly appreciated.  Please send donations directly to Mrs Martin.

If you or a family member work for an organistion that may be able to make a donation but require a letter from the school please contact us directly.

Letters were issued today to allow you to volunteer and/ or arrange for your child to visit Santa.

Many thanks for your continued support in making our school the very best that it can be.

Remembrance Service 2017

Primary 5/6, 6/7 and 7 shared with us the importance of Remembrance Day at our whole school service this morning. Well done to the confident readers who read facts and poems clearly and sang songs enthusiastically and to all children for showing respect during the minutes silence. Thanks also to the Reverend Mark McKeown for joining us and sharing with us some words about Sacrifice.
