Cluster Football Event

We are delighted to be sending a team to represent Glenmanor at a cluster football event being held at Chryston High School.  The event will be held on Wednesday 28 October from 4pm to 5.30pm. The children attending have been selected from those attending an after school club on a Wednesday.   Good luck!

Please note that as a result of this event there will be no football club on Wednesday 28 October and the final session will take place on Wednesday 4 November.

Please note that all pupils eneitled to a free meal no longer require a ticket, their cashless card holds this information.

P2 Rounding Fun!

P2 have been working hard this week to learn how to round numbers to the nearest 10. They used a magic strategy to help them:

-Look at the number and decide what TENS digits it is between. For example 63 is between 60 and 70.

-Look at the UNITS in the digit.

-If the units are 5, 6, 7, 8 or 9 then ROUND UP.

-If the units are 1, 2, 3 or 4 then ROUND DOWN.DSC_2035This clever cookie had a go at a “Dartboard Rounding” game on the Smarboard.

We also played a rounding game on the I-pads to help us practise!

Glenmanor Pupils Donate Their Hair To Charity!

MeganThis thoughtful and kind pupil has been growing her hair for over a year so this can be cut and donated to charity on Sunday 15 November.  She has opted to donate her hair to the little princess trust for wig making, while looking to receive sponsor donations for a local charity PALS. All of this was completely her own idea after watching Children in Need last year  and having a close friend helped by this fantastic charity PALS.

She has received over £1,000 in donations through sponsor forms and she also has a Virgin Giving Money page in her own name.

A local radio station  want to interview her and there will be a local newspaper article to publish her journey.

Well done! We are very proud of your achievement!

KatyAnd let’s not forget another of our pupils in our school who also went though the same process for charity! We have very kind pupils at Glenmanor.
