Our Primary 7s continue to help raise funds for our school. Tonight’s work involved packing bags at our local co-op. Different children will be working all week from 3.00-5.00pm. Come along and see us.
P2/3 Winter Topic
As part of our winter topic we have been learning about how to stay warm. We all carried out an experiment to see what materials are best at keeping in heat.
We covered 4 beakers with different jackets ( paper towel, t-shirt material, thick wooly sock, bag of cotton wool balls) and also had a beaker with no jacket. Mrs Inglis added hot water, we took the temperature waited 20 minutes and then took the temperature again. We discovered that all the water had got a bit cooler, but the water with the woolly sock jacket and the cotton wool jacket stayed the warmest.
This is just like our big wooly and puffy coats that we wear in cold weather to keep us warm.
Everybody enjoyed being scientists and filling in our science reports.
P2/3 Has Talent
P5’s Christmas Grotto
Primary 5 have spent the afternoon turning the classroom into a Christmas grotto. We decided to make some handmade Christmas decorations to add to our mini tree. We have also been writing our Christmas lists. Let’s hope Santa thinks we have all been good this year!
2 weeks until Christmas and we cannot wait!!!
Glenmanor Has Talent
Today we had our school talent show. Contestants from P1 to P7 showed off a wide range of talents. It was a very tight vote with everyone putting in a fabulous performance. Congratulations to everyone who took part. The winners were as follows: Sienna in third place, Arun in second place and our winner Jason. Thank you to Miss Brunton and the enterprise committee for organising this great event!
Glenmanor Choir Christmas Carol Service
Well done to the Junior and Senior Glenmanor Choirs for their fabulous singing and Christmas readings at last night’s Christmas Carol Service.
We would like to thank all the parents and family members who came along to support the event, Reverend Mark McKeown for speaking at the service and Sheila Montgomery for her lovely accompaniment on the piano.
The children would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas!
Primary 1 ‘Road the Bethlehem’
Writing Santa letters in Primary 3.
During taught writing today, Primary 3 wrote letters to Santa. The class really enjoyed this writing activity and their letters were fantastic! We paid close attention to our core targets and remembered to include capital letters and full stops in all sentences.
As as you can see the children are very proud of their letters. Super effort boys and girls.
P1a Independent Addition Work
P1a have had lots of opportunities to learn to add through play. Today I was delighted to see that the children were able to apply their skills to copy and complete some addition question on their own!
