Terrific Technologies

A big well done to all of P2, P2/3 and P3 who all worked very hard to create their own hand puppets. As part of Technology lessons they learned to plan and design their products, then to follow their design to create their finished product. The pictures show a great selection of the Easter themed puppets from P2 and also the rainforest themed puppets from P2/3 and P3.  Great work boys and girls.

P1a have had a busy week!

P1 have enjoyed exploring the Little Red Riding Hood story as part of a mini traditional tales topic. They were able to describe the Big Bad Wolf and Little Red Riding Hood. During purposeful play the children made a new basket for Little Red Riding Hood and made some great wanted posters.

The children have also been working very hard in literacy and all other curricular areas!

Primary 4 Class Cafe

We have just started our Money topic for maths and have been having great fun ordering food and drink from our Glen’s Cosy Cafe menu, working out the total cost of our food and drink orders and finding the exact notes and coins needed to buy them.  Some of us were using our numeracy  skills and rounded up amounts such as £1.99 and £2.89 to the nearest pound to make our calculations a lot easier, remembering to take off the pennies that we added on to get the correct answer.

A Cake Fit for the Queen

Primary 5 have entered Poppyscotland’s competition to design a cake for The Queen’s 90th Birthday. If our design wins, it will be made into a cake for The Queen on board the Royal Yacht Britannia. The winner will also be invited to a VIP photocall and presented with their cake in June, as well as winning some arts and crafts materials for the class! Here are some of our entries…

Good luck everyone!

Primary 5’s First Week Back

Primary 5 have loved learning about our new topic- The Rainforest and Deforestation. We enjoyed looking at the 4 layers of the Rainforest- the emergent layer, the canopy, the understory and the forest floor.

We have been making the most of the sunshine in PE. We worked together to measure how far we could jump in long jump. There are definitely some aspiring Olympic Athletes in the class!

Primary 4 – HWB/Mathematics and Numeracy

We had great fun today doing our  P.E.  lessons out in the sunshine.  We have just started our Athletics programme and focused today on different styles of jumps, such as long jump, standing jump and triple jump.  We used our measuring skills to measure our partner’s jumps and recorded them in our maths jotters in metres and centimetres.  Next time, we will estimate how far we can jump, record our jump then compare the two measurements.
