Primary 5 have enjoyed a busy week learning about different poetry techniques. We have looked at rhyme, repetition, onomatopoeia, personification, similies and metaphors. We have created our own poems using the different techniques we have learnt.
We have also been working well with a partner to collect data by carrying out a survey. We then used our knoweldge of different graphs to choose the most approriate graph to present our data.
Dress down day on Friday 29th April. £1 donation with all proceeds going to the Moodiesburn gala committee.
P4/5 have been learning about the Ragman Rolls this week. Ragman Rolls refers to the collection of instruments by which the nobility of Scotland subscribed allegiance to King Edward I of England. We created our own using tea bags and scrap material then got everyone in the class to sign it! We have also been busy researching William Wallace using a variety of sources, looking at which ones are reliable or not.
Today p1a were learning about money. They were able to recognise coins up to £2 and sort coins according to their value. Tomorrow we will be learning to order coins from least to most valuable.
Please note our first transition event for our new Primary 1’s is Wednesday 27 April 9.30-10.30. We look forward to welcoming all of our new boys and girls.
Today Glenmanor held an art exhibition in the school hall. Parents and pupils from nursery to Primary 7 had the chance to visit the gallery and admire the stunning artwork on display. The feedback from parents and pupils alike has been very positive. Thank you to everyone who came along and supported the event.
P5 were so excited to see their artwork in the gallery today! We loved looking at all the amazing paintings and drawings. You should all be so proud of yourselves!
Dear Parent/ Carer,
Please remember to return your Questionnaires either paper copies or electronically by Friday 29th April. Your opinion is important to us and will direct us in our improvement priorities. Electronic questionnaires can be accessed via our Twitter feed.
Thank you.
This week in P4/5 we started our new topic, Wallace and Bruce. We introduced the topic by learning about King Alexander III and the difficulties in choosing a new King or Queen after he died. We looked at family trees and created our own.
We then investigated our current monarchy and the heirs to throne. A huge Happy 90th Birthday to Queen Elizabeth!
