We are learning all about nursery rhymes. This week we have enjoyed learning about Hickory Dickory Dock and Humpty Dumpty. We acted out our rhymes using puppets and props.
Snack Time in the Nursery
The boys and girls have been enjoying some delicious healthy snacks in the nursery this week. They prepared the potatoes and vegetables from the nursery garden for soup. It was very tasty!

Primary 5 Go Back In Time
Primary 5 developed their knowledge of 70’s playground games today. First they worked as a team to make a long rope out of elastic bands. The children then enjoyed the challenge of jumping over the long elastic band rope as it was raised higher and higher from ankle height all the way to ear height! We used our iPads to record each other’s learning.
Here are some of the children in action!
P2 LEARN ABOUT TENS AND UNITS
During maths time, some of the children worked in their group to solve maths counting problems using a fun game on the SmartBoard. They learned to count the tens and add the units.

Toys from the 80s
P4/5 had great fun researching popular toys from the 1980s on our iPads. We also brought some toys in and played with them. We then used our knowledge to design posters about toys from the 80s!
P2 INVESTIGATE OLD AND NEW TECHNOLOGY
As part of their Decades topic, the boys and girls had a discussion about the technology we use and looked at some photographs of older technology from the year 2000 onwards. They were able to compare the similarities and differences of these devices and sorted them into old and new.
The children thought it was funny when they found out that when rewinding a video tape, people had to wait a while for it to get back to the beginning!
P5’s Awesome Art
Today Primary 5 looked at some of Robert Smithson’s drawings and photographs. We looked at Robert Smithson’s drawing called the Wandering Canal with Mounds. We found out that Robert Smithson drew this in 1971- linking to our 70’s topic! We enjoyed recreating the drawing using charcoal.
