Travel Tracker

We have started to use Living Streets Travel Tracker as a way to record how the children at Glenmanor get to school.  We want to encourage as many pupils as possible to walk, cycle or park and stride.  This makes the area around our school much safer by reducing the amount of cars at 0900 and 1500.

We have set a target of walking to school once a week, if a pupil does this for 4 weeks then they receive a special badge.  Every month there is a new badge to collect.  Good luck everyone!

Parents’ Open Event Tomorrow! We Can’t Wait!

We are all looking forward to seeing you at our parents’ open event tomorrow! Please arrive at 9 and join us in the hall for tea or coffee.

The Parent Council will launch their Christmas card activity that you can complete with your child during the open event.

Carolyn McKeown and Jacqueline Bryce, Adult Literacy and Numeracy Support Workers, will introduce themselves  and ask how they can help you through a short questionnaire.

The bell will ring at 9.30am and our senior pupils will take you to the classrooms, starting with the ground floor and working upwards. You will see your child’s teacher and have the opportunity to join in your child’s learning until 10.30am. We hope to see you all there!

Ready, Steady Cook!

We are proud to launch our class cooking challenge, Ready, Steady Cook!

Every class have been provided with potatoes and onions grown in our school garden. The challenge is to design, prepare, cook and serve a dish using the garden produce, ingredients from our dry store and a maximum of two other ingredients.

Classes will be judged on creativity, taste and presentation!

What do you think your class should cook?

Good luck everyone. image
