Time Experts!
Primary 5 have been working very hard during their first week back. They have been learning to convert times between 12 hour time and 24 hour time. We are now experts at reading and writing analogue and digital time! We have also been working in partners assessing each other’s learning. Well done P5 on being successful learners. Keep up the hard work!
A busy day in p1a
P1a worker hard in all curricular areas today but they worked especially hard in literacy and maths. They are also learning to give relevant feedback during peer assessment. I am very pleased with your effort and attitude towards learning.

P2 Getting to Know 3D Shapes

Phonics in Primary 3
This spelling group were learning about the phoneme ‘aw’. We read the phoneme story to help us find new words containing the phoneme. The children then used rhyming words to help them find more words. Well done ! You worked very hard.
This spelling group were learning about the phoneme ‘ea’ as in the word meat. They used Doodlebuddy on the iPads to write their new words. This group were able to write many words in different, colourful ways using the iPads. The children came up with many words and they made more by adding ‘ed’ and ‘ing’.
Some children also moved onto practising their common words. Well done everyone. Keep up this fantastic work.
Comparing Costs
Primary 5 were successful learners last week as they used their class iPads to support their learning in numeracy. The class were set an online shopping challenge comparing the costs of either a new football kit or outfit for a party from two different shops. Some of the children were surprised at how much a new football kit would cost! The children were successful in comparing the costs from two different shops and deciding which shop would be the best value for money.
Back to the 70’s
A huge well done to Primary 5’s who have created fabulous 70’s posters as their homework task this term. They showcase your learning of the 70’s and will make a fabulous display!
Outdoor Learning in Primary 3
During maths time, P3 were learning about time. The children focused on o’clock, half past, quarter past and quarter to the hour. The class enjoyed sharing their previous knowledge about time and they enjoyed testing eachother. The class enjoyed using a hula hoop for the clock face and they moved around the playground in groups trying to make as many clocks as possible with different times. Primary 3 enjoyed learning in the glorious sunshine!
