Financial Education in Primary 1

Primary 1 loves financial education …. look at all the great ways we have been learning!

We love our shop!   It is a great way to play with money!  We take turns being the customer or the cashier … and everyone wants a shot of speaking on the tannoy!

We play games our on Smartboard … they can be quite tricky and we have to think about our answers.

This is our sorting game.  We began by sorting the coins into different colours – bronze, silver and gold.  We know the gold ones are the best … they can buy us more things!  We have now learnt to sort them into coin values – 1p, 2p, 5p, 10p, 20p, 50p, £1 & £2.

We are learning to add coins together … we work in pairs to get the correct answer.

There are some super money games on our iPads.

We have even put prices on our items in the shop now!

Look at our super money work on our wall!  We have a coin number line to help us remember the value of each one.

A huge thank you to Debbie from the Bank of Scotland who came to talk to us about saving our pennies!  We love our piggy banks!
