Pupil Leadership

A welcome from our House Captains.

“Hello from the House Captain for Muldron. The school that your child is coming to is full of athletic and smart boys and girls. Our school offers lots of opportunities such as Vice Captain in P6,  but there are also opportunities for every year in the school to get involved. We have a SHANARRI Squad where we help each other to stay Safe, Healthy, Achieving, Nurtured, Active, Respectful, Responsible and Included. I wish you and your child a good time at Dykehead Primary School.”

“Hello, I am the House Captain of Calderhead. When your children come to Dykehead Primary school they will be comfortable so the staff will make you feel safe in school. Everyone is nice and friendly, and we have ambition, responsibility, confidence, respect, honesty and positivity. Our school is well known for our success in sports and drama, especially Burn performances. We have a lot of fun, like outdoor learning at the nurture park where we cook marshmallows and hot dogs. You will have an amazing time at DPS.”

“Welcome from the House captain of Kingshill. Our school is full of great people who are nice and kind and show you how good school can be. Your P1 teacher will show you how to learn, how to read and spell, and show you our school values such as honest, responsibility, respect and ambition. I assure you that if you send your child here they will get the best experience. We hope to see you soon.”

“Hello, thank you for choosing our school, it was a great pick. I am the house captain for Northfield. If your child comes to Dykehead, they will leave to go to high school educated, encouraged and confident in everything they do. Here everyone is respectful, staff and pupils. Children should come to Dykehead to build strong relationships with children, staff and partners in the Shotts community. We enjoy learning both indoors and outdoors, and we are an inclusive school.”
