Dear Parent/Carer

School Update: Tuesday 3 May 2022

I am pleased to announce that the majority of restrictions have now been lifted in schools across Scotland. I would like to thank all members of our school community for your patience and understanding over the past two years.

I have outlined some changes in this next phase of living with the virus:

  • Symptomatic testing is no longer available for everyone, if pupils or staff are displaying any of the following symptoms the guidance will be to remain at home until they are no longer symptomatic.
  • Wearing of face coverings should be encouraged on entering, exiting, moving around and in communal areas in schools (excluding classrooms) for staff and secondary pupils, in line with workplace guidance.

The following routine protective measures will remain in place:

Personal Hygiene

  • Washing hands thoroughly, at the right time, using appropriate facilities and products helps to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
  • Effective respiratory and cough hygiene also helps to minimise the risk of the transmission of COVID-19.

Physical Distancing

  • Children, young people, and staff should follow the wider societal guidance on physical distancing in schools or on dedicated school transport.
  • It is recognised that where possible, it is safer to keep a distance from other people with 1m distancing being accepted as reasonable and proportionate.

Public Health Guidance

  • The general advice from NHSL Public Health is to continue with the steps we have been asked to take to mitigate against the virus.

Yours sincerely,

Ed Clinton

Head Teacher
