This week we finished off some of our Farm themed art work. We created a collage barn using different types of paper. For the back ground we used bright coloured paint to create a colourful farm for the barn. We think they look great!

Health Week Day 1 and 2!
Anti-Bullying Day
On Monday it was Anti-Bullying Day! At assembly we learned how bad bullying is and that we have to tell an adult if we see bullying. In class we made posters to help stop bullying. On the posters we remembered to put pictures and some information about bullying.
Outdoor Day
On Tuesday it was Outdoor Day. There were stalls in the senior playground set up by P6, Miss Wallace and Miss O’Neil. We thought the stall were AMAZING!! We want to say a big thank you!!
After that we got to do some GARDENING!! We had to fill up some big bags with soil because we were planting potatoes. Some of us used the Watering Can’s to pour water into the bags. In class we learned what seeds need to grow. We now know that seeds need SOIL, WATER, LIGHT, AIR and WARMTH!
In the afternoon P2 went outside with pencils and paper to draw as many living things as they could! We found LOADS!!! We already know lots about Living Things because it is our Science topic! When we came back into class we wrote a poem about the Insects in our Playground they are OUTSTANDING!
Thank you for reading our post, we will share more later in the week!
Bye Bye Butterflies!!
Today we released our Butterflies. We were a little bit sad to let them go because we like looking after them in the class. Pretty much the whole school came out to watch the butterflies fly away. We are sorry that Mrs Woodward and some of the bigger boys and girls didn’t get to see it BUT we took some pictures for them so see what happened. Thank you to all the classes for coming to watch it! Primary Two have really loved looking after the caterpillars and watching them change into butterflies and hope the butterflies have a good life and that the life cycle keeps going!

Feeding the Butterflies!
The Cracking of the Chrysalis!
Yesterday was a very, very exciting day in P2! (But not for Miss Kinloch because she wasn’t here, thank goodness Mrs McIntyre was here!!) Two of our beautiful butterflies came out of their Chrysalis! Everyone in P2 was very happy and excited!
When we came in today there was even more excitement because there was more butterflies in the net. During the day we know that up to 12 of our 33 caterpillars have turned into beautiful butterflies.
This afternoon we went into the playground on a very special mission. We were collecting things to make our butterflies feel at home. We found twigs, leaves and flowers!!
Over the next week we are going to be taking care of the butterflies by feeding them special food! Miss Kinloch is going to take pictures of us feeding them and we will share this on the blog!
Thank you for reading and please leave a comment!
Homework for June
Caterpillars change into Pupa!
We have some exciting news to share from the Primary Two Butterfly Garden! Over the holiday there has been a change in our caterpillars! They have changed into a Pupa  which is the next stage in their life cycle.
The Pupa can also be called the Chrysalis. Inside the Pupa the caterpillar is turning into a Butterfly. Here is a picture of what it looks like in our class.
Tuesday was the first time we got to see it. Primary Two know that because it is now in a Chrysalis it is very delicate so they cannot pick up the tubs incase it falls down.
When we saw the Pupa we thought…
They are brilliant – Connor E
Fantastic – Craig
It was cool – Callum I
It looks awesome – Amy
They look delicate – Nieve
They look lovely – Olivia
Soon they are going to turn into Butterflies in about 1 week. They will not be able to fit in the little tubs so they will need to be moved very very carefully into the net. We cannot wait to see what happens next!
When the butterflies emerge would any classes like to come and see them?

Primary Twos Butterfly Garden
We are very lucky in Primary Two to have some little visitors in the form of caterpillars! We are already becoming experts and can tell you about different stages of their life cycle! Tomorrow we are writing an information piece about everything we know so far!
We would love the other classes in the school to come and visit them too so we can share our learning!
Check out the caterpillars in their tub they are getting very big already…
