There are many different ways to generate ideas to meet a specification/ design brief. Sometimes when our research doesn’t provide an obvious solution we can use idea generation techniques to help us. The video below is a variation on technique called “taking your pencil for a walk” which your teacher may have already demonstrated in class.

Watch Jimmy design and build a convertible “Bench to Table.” Normally made from wood, he re-designed this project to be made from metal, starting with a small scale model to understand the action in the pivot points.
