Our P7 pupils leavers’ treat yesterday. Footgolf at Palacerigg followed by lunch at The Swan. Many thanks to our parent council and @RotaryKilsyth for donating towards footgolf and to @The_Swan_Banton for their very kind gesture in waiving the bill for lunch. What a great day!
Some Christmas fun for you. We recorded this video over the past week or so. Hope you enjoy our spectacular dancing, some lovely Christmas messages and even some sign language too.
Happy Christmas from everyone at Banton Primary.
Please find a letter below explaining changes to Lunch-time school-crossing patrols.
Yesterday, we went to the Banton Park for the official opening. The Primary 7’s and Grace went to the park.
We were met by:
Provost Jean Jones
Councillor Heather Brannan-McVey
Colin Bruce, NLC Community Partnership Team
Catherine Moneypenny, Banton Park Committee
Shona Smith, Banton Park Committee.
Heather Brannan-McVey talked to us about how the Park wasn’t safe and they had to take it away and they said they might as well make a new one for everyone to enjoy. The banton Park committee helped us organise it. They also talked to us about the poster competition Which Jonah Kane won by 1 point! His picture will be part of the park on a giant board.
You can see all our entries on the Biggies Blog.
After that we had 30 minutes of fun playing in the park.
Monday 22nd June is the big day! We would love all of our pupils and families to participate. Banton and Chapelgreen Primaries have entered a joint team for this event.
This picture tells you the timeline for the day.
Don’t worry if you don;t have a printer to print off the scorecared. You can use a pencil and paper to record the scores and send them in to Mrs Rae via email.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask. Above all, this is a fun event and an opportunity for our pupils and families to get outside and enjoy themselves. Remember, EVERYONE can participate and ALL scores will be counted. So, grab your trainers and get the whole household involved in some active outdoor fun and games.
Scores can be emailed to Mrs Rae.
Active Schools are also encouraging you to tweet photos of you participating to @NLActiveSchools using #NLSportsDay. There is a chance to win £50 of sporting equipment for the school.
Here is our dance challenge video with the winners of each category. Many thanks to EVERYONE who participated. Your efforts are, as always, much appreciated.
Certificates will be emailed to the winners later today.
This week we would love if you would participate in the Active Schools Virtual Relay. We are posting this today to give you a chance to plan your day!
All you have to do is walk, run, scoot or cycle a distance of your choice and send in your distance so it can be collated. The school will then send the totals to Active Schools Co-ordinator who will work out which city we have managed to travel to.
As a small school, we know that we might not travel as far as some other large schools but we are always up for a challenge. All pupils and staff are encouraged to participate.
So, lace up the trainers, get the walking shoes on or look out the bikesor scooters and get involved.
We would encourage you to take photos and tweet them using the hashtag #CCKVirtualRelay and #NLActiveSchools and also remember to tag us @Banton_Pr
Once you are done either tweet the distance using @NLActiveSchools or if you prefer, email the distance to Mrs Rae – email@example.com
Take a look at the posteron the link below to find out more details. Should you have any questions please just get in touch with Mrs Rae.
Good afternoon. The start of a new week again.
Some of our staff and pupils have been really busy making dance routines and Tik Tok Videos. I have been really impressed by some of the thought and skills that have gone into them
Remember to send your entry in as soon as possible. There are lots of fabulous dancers in our school and it would be great to share your talents. Let’s see your creativity skills in use!
The closing date is Friday 5th of June.
Send all enteries to Mrs Rae – firstname.lastname@example.org
Family Dance Challenge!
Time to get those dancing shoes on, those endorphins pumping and that heart racing!
This week’s family learning challenge will focus on Expressive Arts. Taking part in dance contributes to your child’s physical education and physical activity.
Your child will develop their technical skills and the quality of their movement, and use their imagination and skills to create and choreograph a dance sequence. Healthy Body equals healthy mind!
We would love the whole family to get involved in this.
We are aware that Tik Tok has been a favourite pastime of many of our pupil’s during lockdown.
We would like you either on your own, with your sibling or the whole family to make up a short routine to a dance and send us the short video clip.
Be as creative as you like, you can even dress up for it.
All we ask is you choose a song that is appropriate and does not contain any profanities.
All the clips will be collated to make a short video which will be posted on the school blog.
We will also choose the top three clips as winners.
Get the tunes on and start dancing!
We look forward to seeing your dance moves and happy faces.
Videos can be sent to Mrs Rae. email@example.com
Good afternoon everyone. Thanks to all of our fabulous pupils and staff who participated in last week’s Family Learning Challenge.
The aim of the challenge was to allow us to say a distanced “Hello” to each other and to share what we have been grateful for during this period of time.
Our learning community has risen to the challenge and it is great to see all these wonderful faces again albeit only in a photo.
Hope the video has made a few people smile today!
Look out for our next challenge which we will share on Tuesday morning.
