Thank you to all of the boys and girls at APS who have collected and recycled bottle caps for the Eco & Outdoor Leadership Academy.  The children are very excited about creating their artistic design  to enter the ‘Marine Litter’ art competition! 🍃 🌊 😁

***Plastic Bottle Cap Appeal! ***

The Eco and Outdoor Learning Leadership Academy are taking part in a Marine Art Litter Competition and we really need YOUR help! We would like EVERYONE in our school to bring in as many plastic bottle caps as they can over the next few weeks so that we can create a mosaic to raise awareness of the  damage  plastic has on Marine life! 💥 P7 Anderson Shelter💥

Construction on the class bomb shelter is well underway.   Children have worked together to construct the wooden frame and cardboard skin.  We are on the final stages of painting then we will have to work our magic in the interior.  Fantastic work boys and girls!

🌟Inspirational Artist Steven Brown Loves P4’s Creativity!🌟

I was so proud of  Primary 4’s  Nessie artwork, I secretly emailed photos of  their designs to Steven Brown Art.  ☺ The children were over the moon on Monday morning when they received a card from ‘Steven Brown’ himself saying how delighted he was with their ‘fantastic artwork!’ 🖼  🤩 Well done Primary 4! 👏🏻👍🏻😁

🍃❄️ Eco Learn about and Research ‘Marine Litter’ ❄️🍃

Today our Eco & Outdoor  learning team learned about the ‘Upstream Battle’ and detrimental effects of marine litter. We took a walk around our school grounds to try and identify how litter in our area might get into the River Clyde and came to the conclusion that it must be via drains. We are looking forward to raising more awareness about re-using, reducing and recycling!

Oh jings! Tell me it’s no…….. it’s the Gruffalo! 😲

Primary 1 have been reading the Gruffalo in Scots. The children have loved hearing the story in Scot’s language and have found lots of words funny! We have been painting and decorating  characters for our display and have enjoyed using sticks we have collected to decorate The Gruffalo.

🖼 Nessie Art by Primary 4 👏🏻😁

Inspired by the work of ‘Steven Brown’, Primary  4  had fun using oil pastels to create their vibrant, multi- coloured Nessies. The children enjoyed exploring the use of charcoal to create their monotone landscapes of the Loch Ness . We think this contrast works well, making  our Nessies  really stand out!
