P6 Paper Technology

Today’s challenge was to make a Pudsey or Blush slider pop-up. No template was given so pupils needed to draw their own bear. Some pupils instantly exclaimed, “I can’t draw!” However as you can see from the results, these pupils were wrong. Everyone left with a bear that has a sliding mouth to show different emotions. I hope you and your Pudsey or Blush are smiling tonight because our school

P6 Classroom Monitors

Today whilst many of the Primary 7 pupils were out of school we took on the responsibility of classroom monitors and helped look after classes during a wet lunchtime. Most of us loved it; though we weren’t always listened to! At one point five Primary Ones were squashed in the play tent together, they survived the crush and came out smiling.

Primary 6, Young Leaders

So far we have had 3 weeks of training from Mr McLaughlin to help us teach games to the younger pupils in our school. We have been learning and practising some of the skills which will make us good leaders. It has been fun playing a variety of Tig Games and yesterday we used the Parachute. The competition was tough and there were lots of skinned knees by the end

Golden Time in P6

Last Friday we had a lovely Golden Time some pupils chose to extend their drawing skills through online tutorials whilst others drew their favourite cartoon characters. Leadership Academy – Making orange juice

Pupils in P2-P7 enjoyed their first Leadership Academy in Fairtrade and cooking  with Ms Whiston and Miss Lalmy.  They learnt about the parts of the orange, they got to taste it and then they juiced them.  The upper primary school pupils were very responsible working with their younger partners supporting them with how to use all the equipment.  We also looked at being safe in a kitchen and where the

Just like the one sent home it was difficult to agree on how many triangles were in each drawing. One of the problems enjoyed in school was ‘Planting Out.’ With this activity we had different challenges, the first was to investigate

P6 Clyde in the Classroom

The whole class enjoyed looking after the brown trout before releasing them into the Clyde river. Everyone took on many responsibilities such as feeding the fish, checking the temperature and even removing the dead eggs from the tank (luckily, there weren’t that many). We were pleasantly surprised when they hatched earlier than expected and were excited to see how they changed from week to week. Our instructor Dave was also

P6 & 7 Christmas Party

P6 and P7 have been enjoying social dancing, games and free-style dancing at their Christmas party.  The boys and girls had great fun choosing their dance partners for the Gay Gordans, Military Two-step and Canadian Barn Dance. The teachers had a tough job picking the best boy and girl dancers – there was some slick moves, along with some questionable ones! 🙂 We hope the boys and girls had a

P6 Models

Primary 6 created models of famous French landmarks as part of their homework project. Everyone was impressed with the creative designs and the children have received many compliments since bringing them into school. I enjoyed listening to the children as they explained how they made their models as it showed how much time they had spent on their chosen landmark. I would also like to thank all parents/guardians for their support and encouragement at home. Well
