Primary 3 have been making the most of the lovely dry weather to be outside as much as we can. We took our learning in maths outside to create our fractions graffiti boards. We had to write as many fractions of amount sums as we could. This morning we enjoyed the daily mile walk and some orienteering in small groups. We had to create a picture using the PE equipment
The French Champions Leadership Academy were busy today preparing for their French Cafe. We are looking forward to their parent/carer or relative coming along to visit on Thursday 24th of May at 2pm. This week Primary 3 have been learning about our human bodies. We have been finding out about our skeleton, what it’s purpose is and naming the different bones we have. Today we learnt about the longest bones in our bodies which are in our arms and legs. We measured the humerus, ulna and radius bones in our arms and compared with our friends. Primary 3 had a fantastic day celebrating World Book Day. We took part in a book scavenger hunt, played a guessing book character game, read our stories and listened to Mrs Devine read to us. Mrs Devine spoke about her favourite story, Oh the Places You’ll Go by Dr Seuss. It’s her favourite story as it inspires the reader to be who they want to be and make their own
Today was the end of our Famous Scots Interdisciplinary Learning Topic. Each co-operative learning group presented their Powerpoint presentations on a Famous Scot of their choice. The Powerpoints were outstanding. Each group managed to include some facts, photos and even used creative transitions between slides. We discussed who our favourite Famous Scots were and how they affected our lives and lives of others. Well done everyone!
Primary 3 have been learning about dividing by sharing. Here are some photos of us dividing in an everyday situation when we made iced biscuits (and even got to eat them), playing active games and reinforcing our learning playing i-pad games. We are now learning about the relationship between multiplication and division.

The show engaged children in learning about science, technology, engineering and maths through some very clever magic tricks. Primary 3 rounded off our series of drama activities based on the traditional tale, The Three Billy Goats Gruff. We had fun reenacting the story in our groups wearing our masks we made.
Primary 3 had a wonderful afternoon at the active schools play festival. The boys and girls were very well behaved and truly exhausted by the end of the afternoon. The children made lots of new friends playing a range of games from rugby skills to badminton and even some parachute games. Thank you to our I.C.T. Experts from the I.C.T. leadership academy for demonstrating how to use the i-pad to programme robots. We couldn’t believe how fast they were able to move. We have chosen to use the i-pads at golden time for the rest of this term to allow everyone to have a chance to play and explore with the robots.
