Our talented Primary 4 at the show today!
Mrs Murray and Primary 4 invite you to share in their learning.
On Wednesday we made a ladybird oat cake and we also made an apple skewer and we decorated it with icing. The ingredients where oat cakes, cherry tomatoes and purple grapes. For the apple skewer we put six green grapes on it. By Peyton.
I mostly enjoyed the oat cake. It was really fun making the stuff and trying it. – Peyton

On Tuesday we visited Stirling castle. We had a great time and learnt loads about it. Here are some of the things the children wanted to share.
The castle was quite hilly. – Erin U

Stirling castle was built on top of a volcano. – Aaron
We found out that only the royal family were allowed to wear purple. – Noah
If you looked at the view from the castle you could see the Wallace Monument. – Eilidh

We want to share everything we know about fractions!
We can find fractions on a number line. Elli
We know that the denominator goes at the bottom and the numerator goes at the top. Eilidh
We know that the denominator is how many we have in total. Klea
We know that the numerator is how many pieces you have taken. Michael
We know that 2/4 is the same as 1/2. Noah
We have enjoyed learning about fractions and have learnt lots of new information. We enjoyed working on stations and using some ICT equipment.

On Tuesday morning we were lucky to have a visitor during our gym time to teach us some things about Judo.
Holly, David and Erin K got flipped!!
We played on the mat with a rope and were trying to push people out of rope circle, first person to push the other person outside the rope was the winner.
We learnt the words for ‘go’ and ‘stop’ they were Hajime for go and Matte for stop.
We really enjoyed the lesson and would love to do it again!

Since we have come back from the Christmas holidays we have been very busy on our first week back.
In literacy we are working on a new phoneme ‘oo’. We have been searching for different words with the ‘oo’ sound in them for example football. We have been working on a non-fiction block and have been learning the differences between non-fiction and fiction books.
In numeracy this week we have been working on division, we are getting so good at division we are now on division with remainders.
Our new topic for this term is Charles Rennie Mackintosh we are very excited to get started and find out lots about him and his work.

In literacy we done a newspaper article, we could pick either tornadoes or hurricanes. A lot of people chose tornadoes. We got to add some pictures to our work. We used a headline, a lead, a main body and a tail to help us structure our newspaper report.
In numeracy we have been learning our 4 times table and are moving on to our 6 and 9 times table. We have been working on multiplication and division and are all working very hard.
We have been working on some Christmas art work and have made some Grinch faces and reindeer faces. We used paper plates, coloured paper, black pens, green and brown paint, brown paper, red pom pom and googly eyes. We all enjoyed this activity and have used our work to decorate the class!

In primary 4 we have been learning about 3D shapes during maths time and we used the 3D shapes we collected to make 3D robots in groups.
I thought it was very fun putting together all of the recyclable materials to make our robot. – Benjamin
