Our PE days are Tuesdays and Thursdays.

P6 have had a fantastic start to the school year. They have been incredibly busy!! We 

 LITERACY 

We started reading the ‘Stormbreaker’ novel by Anthony Horowitz, the children are enjoying this book. We explored vocabulary,Stormbreaker character and theme. We also started learning about the Cornell method for notetaking. 

In writing, the children completed free writing tasks and took part in the Young Writers Competition. 

 

NUMERACY 

In numeracy last term, we developed our estimation, rounding and place value knowledge and skills, with larger numbers. Five Minute Frenzy made a return, where competition was fierce!! In class maths, learned about the properties of 2D shape and symmetry.  

 

ACROSS THE CURRICULUM 

The 8 reasons that led to WWI - EgyptTodayOur class context for learning was the First World War. The children chose this topic. We learned about the road to war, military, rationing and technology that developed during WWI and what happened to children during the war.  

 

We started work on Learning for Sustainability and Rights Respecting Schools this will continue across the school year.
