The EYC class is open from 8am – 6pm, with sessions starting at 8am, 9am and 1.15pm. The start of each session is an important time when quality learning begins. Doors open for collection at 12.45pm, 3:00pm and 5.30pm. If you are running late please telephone ahead and let the management team know.

Learning Journals

We use learning journals to communicate between home and the EYC. We provide new parents with their own passcode and link when their child joins the nursery. This is a great way of parents seeing what their child gets up to while they are in our care.

Illness Procedure

In the event of illness please inform the management team as soon as possible. If your children has had sickness and/or diarrhoea the normal wait period after illness is 48 hours before return to EYC Class is advised.

Change of clothes

Please leave a change of clothes for your child on their peg. Your child may become wet for a number of reasons and we do not have any spare clothes.

Lunch and Light Teas

All children are now provided with a free snack, lunch and/or light tea (depending on their attendance pattern). All meals are supplied and served by the wonderful North Ayrshire Council kitchen staff who provide the children with a hot healthy balanced meal. Snack by is provided by EYC staff at the snack area within the playrooms.

Gym day

Every Wednesday, please help your children learn how to change into their gym shoes. Please dress them in comfy joggers/leggings. Velcro shoes are the easiest to put on and off for your child and staff.

Collection

Please alert a member of staff if somebody else is collecting your child. Please hold their hand as you leave for your child’s safety. We ask that mobile phones be turned off as you enter the building.

EYC Uniform

Please label your children’s clothes, shoes and boots. We are not responsible for ‘lost’ jumpers if they are not labelled appropriately. Joggers and leggings are the most comfortable clothes for children. Please do not send your child in ‘designer gear’.
