Work at Home (wk beg. 01.06.2020)

Well Primary 7, here we are in the first week of June already! Here are some activities for you to work on this week. Remember just to do what you can and if you need any help or clarification with anything please feel free to email us or post on Teams. We will have another virtual Team Talk on Wednesday at 11:30am – 12:00pm (note change of time) and we will have our usual spell-check and chat on Friday at 11am.  As always, please upload any photos to Teams or email them to us so we can put them on to the blog. Missing you lots!

Literacy

Spelling – Complete your 3 tasks as normal, spread out throughout the week. (Look up the meaning; Use it in a sentence; Active spelling task) Nessy Group – remember to do at least 10 minutes on Nessy and 10 minutes on IDL every day. Reading – Try to do a little bit of reading on Bugclub every day. Please ensure that you are answering the Bug questions properly – We can see your answers and will provide feedback.You should have finished your last book by now so new books are allocated below. Numeracy 

This week we would really like you to focus on Sumdog for maths. Every so often we like to do a Diagnostic Test to make sure the computer is setting you questions at the correct level. All you have to do is go on and answer questions as normal, but please try to make sure you are answering at least 40 questions every day so that the test will be complete. We have included a fun ‘Grand Designs’ challenge for you to try as well where you get to design your dream house and then use your maths skills to decorate and furnish it. We can’t wait to see what you all come up with!

Beat The Teacher – Why not play a few rounds of beat the teacher (parent). Write the stations of the times tables and remember you only have a minute to write them down. Let’s see who can beat their parents.

Michelin Star Challenge – I am sure you have seen lots of famous chefs on TV and sometimes tried to copy them, so we  thought it would be fun to create a Michelin Star meal with beans on toast! We would like you to watch the video clips with some tips on how to present your dish, making it worthy of a Michelin Star and then get creating! We can’t wait to see all your fancy dishes so make sure you send us lots of pictures! Enjoy!

Here are some examples: Cheesy Beanos, Baked Beans on Fried Bread Croutons with a melted Parmesan Crust, Baked Bean Puree, Crushed Bean Croquette, Beans on Toast Roulade and a Bean juice foam with a burnt crumb.

 

PE – Try your best to complete at least 2 PE sessions with either: Joe Wicks on Youtube (9am each morning) or Cosmic Kids Yoga or Jump Start Jonny at 9am. (Links included on Handy Links tab).

Fit 15 – Also try to fit in some fit 15. You could try Just Dance, outdoor play or anything else you can think of to keep fit.
