Winners galore!

Mrs Vaughan was blown away with the entries to the WBD competitions!

The winner of the match the pairs competition was Kaiden, with runners up Amy, Kaitlyn and Iona.

The mystery book went down a storm! One pupil in particular read 13 books!! Aimee was rewarded with a special prize which delighted her!

The winner was drawn at random from all the other entries – well done Carmen! With runners up Kara, Olivia, Megan, Aela and Rosie. Some pupils mentioned how they had discovered a book they normally wouldn’t read and enjoyed it. That’s the real win!

To celebrate World Book Day, why not enter the library competitions?

Firstly, there’s match the book character pairs – pick up an entry form from Mrs Vaughan. Prize to be won! Closing date 23 March.

Secondly, you will have heard the saying, “Don’t judge a book by its cover!” so why not try a mystery book – no information on the wrapped up book so it’s a lucky dip!! Read at least 3 chapters, fill in the review card, and be in with a chance of winning a prize. Closing date 30 March.

Thirdly, see Mrs Vaughan about a book token to get a free World Book Day book from the local supermarkets or Waterstones.

World Book Day is just around the corner! Celebrated on 3 March, this day celebrates all things booky!

There’s lots of activities and information on the WBD website. Have a look at the competitions available to win some books.

World Book Day – Competitions galore!

STILL TIME TO ENTER – DEADLINE 11 MARCH

World Book Day on Thurs 4 March is a celebration of books and reading, through providing the opportunity for every child to have a book of their own. Vouchers for this at school reception or use the electronic voucher.

To celebrate this important day, there are 3 Library competitions you can enter:

Competition 1 – decorate a boiled egg as a book character (it is nearly Easter after all!) – send a photo of your creation to Mrs Vaughan

Competition 2 – have a go at the foreign book cover quiz – guess the book title in English from the foreign covers. Bonus points if you know which language each cover is in!

Competition 3 – take a photo of yourself reading to your pet! Even if the “pet” is a wee brother or sister or cousin! Send photos to Mrs Vaughan

Enter one or more for the chance of winning a prize! Deadline for entries is 10 March. Good luck!
