Come back ready for the new term with your library books – even if VERY overdue – bring them back please! Still a large number to be returned from June 2023 so make Mrs Vaughan happy in 2024 by bringing any library books you find over the holidays back in January!
More new books are available for loan this week.

Every week the display also highlights books in different genres. This week it is books which have appeared on TV. Why not read the book of you favourite series?
Loads of books of films too, so speak to Mrs. Vaughan if you would like a recommendation.
Mrs. Vaughan was delighted to coordinate the donations of new books for NA Libraries to pass on to partners in the community, so that children can have a book present at Christmas.
Over 80 books were received and Kilwinning Library were delighted with the donations.

Since it is St. Andrew’s Day on Thursday, the display this week features books set in Scotland or by Scottish authors. Why not try one to celebrate St. Andrew’s Day?
The North Ayrshire Young Writers Competition has launched!
This competition is for young people who are in P6- S2. There are no restrictions regarding the writing genre – young imagination is the only limit! Write a short story, a poem, a graphic novel, or comic book – the choice is yours!
Please ensure your work has a title and that your name is added plus your school, and year group to ensure the entries are judged correctly and that we can contact the winners.
The competition will run from 23rd October- 21st November 2023 with submitted work being judged, and prizes/awards in each year group as well as the opportunity to have selected works published.
Submit your work to Mrs Vaughan in the school library no later than 20 November.
