Art Gallery with comfy sofas – you can curl up with a good book, chill, use a laptop, etc.

Monday, Thursday, Friday – 10am-1pm and 2-5pm
Tuesday 10am-1pm and 2-6pm

Want to know what’s going on in school, the library and local community? Well, have a look at the new What’s On? noticeboard in the library every time you visit.
Mrs Vaughan has been busy processing loads of new books won from Lit in Colour Competition – 100 Penguin books by authors of colour for you to enjoy! Although the books arrived last October, they have been in storage until Mrs Vaughan unearthed them!
Now ready for loan, these fiction and non-fiction books are a fabulous addition to the library stock, improving the diversity of books available.
Thanks to the Lit in Colour team at Penguin Books for this fantastic donation.
Mrs. Vaughan is over the moon – the Library is now open! Classes have already started coming for library periods, but pop in if you would like to borrow a book or see the Library finished.

Unfortunately there is still a lot of work to do before you can get in and use the facility, but it won’t be long now until you can come in and enjoy using the library resources.
For those at Kilwinning Academy who are studying (or interested in) art and would like to explore and develop their skills, this summer programme is for you.
Glasgow School of Art invite bookings from all eligible pupils to take part in the following:
– S6 Portfolio Courses
– S5 Portfolio Courses
– Architecture Portfolio Courses
– S4 Creative Club
– Watch & Chat
These activities are designed to help pupils learn more about and prepare for application to art, design and architecture courses at college or university. There is also application support throughout the application process to GSA.

You are invited to share ideas for the future of your town!
The local community in Kilwinning is invited to have their say and help shape the future of Kilwinning as part of a pilot project in North Ayrshire Council – to identify priorities and projects to address local needs and ambitions.
Public Ideas Workshops will be held in Kilwinning on 24 May in Erskine Church Hall, alongside on-street engagement activities in advance and on the days of the workshops. Members of the team will also be in and around the town to canvass the opinion of folk on-street. Updates will also be provided via social media using the hashtag #MakeKilwinning.
