Caterpillars

Our Caterpillars have arrived and it’s tine to get excited about life cycles. Woohoo! Our 5 new friends received a warm welcome as inquisitive little faces greeted them. We have been preparing for the arrival with lots of themed activities to help the children connect their
learning alongside some objects of reference. We will monitor the progress of “The Incredibles” and keep you up to date. In the meantime please enjoy photos of the big event and I’m sure you will agree that Primary A have some super nature detectives in the making.

Warmest wishes,

The Primary A Team

Primary A Playdough fun

Fabulous Friday in the sun.

Hello from Primary A,

This week we have been getting busy with Science, Art and Technology. The children (and staff) throughly enjoyed it. We made puffy paint, exploding cola rockets, fizzy lemons, Stik bot animations and a whole host more. We explored colours, textures and cause & effect.

The weather is beginning to change for the better (finally!!) so today we took our sensory session, for Fabulous Friday, outside. We learned all about the story “Sharing a shell” and had fun in the sparkly water tray…..then the bubble machine made an appearance. What a way to end the week!

Warmest Wishes

Hi

We have been busy being out and about, having lots of new experiences and practising our skills..  We would like to show you some of things we have been up to.

Our IDL for last term was Growth and Change and we looked at how we have changed and were using the iPad to take different pictures of ourselves.  This term our IDL is a Night at the Theatre.  We have been trying on different hats and practising our poses.

We have celebrated a birthday and we have had a visitor,

Strictly Come Disco! for Sport Relief

On Friday 16th March we had a dress up or dress down day in aid of Sport Relief.  The whole school came together to get their Strictly Come Disco on partied the afternoon away.  We decorated with disco balls that the pupils made and had sensory lights.  Everyone had a great time and we raised £66.00 for Sport Relief.

Well done everyone!!!

Burns Brunch 2018

Our annual Burns Brunch event took place on February the 8th. It was well attended by both parents and the local community. Everyone joined in with the scottish country dancing, clapped along with the procession and address to the haggis and the skits performed by the primary classes. Then we had some scottish delicacies (haggis, neeps and tatties.)

It was a huge success and a fantastic experience for all our pupils to be involved in. We would like to thank everyone for their support and hope to see you next year 🙂

Sport Programme

Stuart Forsyth the Sports Development Worker connected to Fullerton Youth and Community Project has been coming into the school to deliver a 6 week block of sports taster sessions.

The pupils have had great fun and participated in all the activities which have been well organised and planned for our pupils.  The sports coaches have been involved in making the activities fun and challenging for all needs.

Happy New Year!

Primary B wish everybody a Happy New Year! We’ve had a very busy start to the term so far. After exchanging all our festive news this week, we decided to make snow. We had great fun throwing snowballs at each other and across the classroom!

We have also been busy creating artwork for the Show Racism the Red Card competition. This year’s theme was Nelson Mandela 27. The children all helped to choose  a quote and then we made the artwork using all our favourite colours.

🎉 Happy New Year 🎉

Happy New Year everyone.  We hope you all had a lovely Christmas and enjoyed the holidays.

Primary A had a very productive first day back.  We explored many different sensory resources but our favourite was exploring light and sound in the Sensory Studio.

HS and CD sharing lights and space. Both boys were tracking the lights when moved and were independently moving them.

CD moving the light to create different patterns.

CR activating light up balls and independently discovering they can squeak. CR explored different ways to make them squeak by tapping them together, bouncing them and throwing them.

HS was actively moving and following the lights. He found it funny when they flashed.
